Anxiety and Panic Attacks

It is often difficult to draw the line between stress and anxiety.

You may experience a constant feeling of unease, your stomach may churn, you may get palpitation, feel dizzy. You may experience depression, feeling worried, sad or low for no good reason. All of us experience these feelings at some time. However if they persist, recur regularly or are with you all the time you may well be experiencing generalised anxiety. The overwhelming problem with this situation is that it wears you down. You know you need to find a solution but as time goes on it gets more and more difficult.

Panic attacks are often quite different. They often arise suddenly and unexpectedly. They can occur apparently at random or can clearly be caused by specific events and situations. There is often little difference between a phobic response, or trauma and a panic attack .

Panic attack symptoms include the following:

Rapid heartbeat or palpitations - sweating - shaking - shortness of breath - chest pain - dizziness - feeling feint - feeling spaced out - numbness - a feeling of losing control.

There are well tried methods for bringing about a rapid improvement to the onset of these symptoms. Treating anxiety and panic attacks also includes a large amount of self help, steps that you can take to rapidly improve the situation. If you have a partner we can offer guidance on what help they can offer to support and enhance the treatment.

There is no need to live with this situation. Feel free to contact us at help@NLPTherapy.net
